Registration

Welcome to Cambridge-Isanti Hockey Association (CIHA).  
We are here to guide you through getting started in the great sport of hockey!  

The 2023-24 CIHA REGISTRATION link above will guide you through the following steps.

Step 1:

Register with USA Hockey.   

Remember to register each of your children with USA Hockey. Each child must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.

Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation number(s) needed for step two.

The USA Hockey Registration fee varies by age, plus there is a MNHockey affiliate fee.

Step 2: 

Complete the CIHA Registration Page based on your child's 2023-24 Age Classification, which can be found here.

 

 

The level that individual players will be allowed to participate at will be determined by their age, birth date and grade level.

Mini Mites or 6U Players:  Born on or after June 1, 2016   *Our small community has not registered enough players to separate this age group. This age group is placed with the Mite/8U based on skill level.

Mite or 8U Players: Ages 4 to 9 Born on or after June 1, 2014 

Squirt or 10U Players: Ages 9 to 11 - June 1, 2012 - May 31, 2014 or entering 4th Grade

Peewee or 12U Players: Ages 11 to 12 - June 1, 2010 - May 31, 2012 or entering 6th Grade

Bantam or 15U Players: Ages 13 to 15 - June 1, 2008 -  May 31, 2010 or entering 8th Grade

Once your player is registered you will get an email confirming your registration.

You will now start receiving emails from CIHA and information for the season.

Birth Certificate Required for New & First Year Players to CIHA

All first-year CIHA players must provide a PHOTO COPY of their child's Government Issued (not hospital issued) Birth Certificate to the CIHA Registrar in one of the following ways:

  • Bring a copy to the parents meeting (date yet TBD)
  • Email a PDF to the CIHA Registrar
  • Leave a copy in the Registrar mailbox located just inside the doors(on the left) at the Isanti Arena

Financial Assistance

  • The applicant must pay the registration costs
  • Financial aid is applied to the secondary payments that are due.
  •  All financial aid approvals are applicable for the current season only.   
  • All decisions are final.   
  • Application deadline for the 2023-24 season is 8/13/22.
  • Families will be limited to receive scholarship funds for a maximum of three years.

Live Outside the Cambridge-Isanti School Attendance Area?

Please read the MN Hockey Participation Policy.  Do not register until you have a completed waiver signed by your home association president.  Contact your home association for a waiver form to begin the process.  Your home association president must first sign your waiver before CIHA's president will sign.

The waiver process needs to be completed at each school change.  For example, elementary to middle or middle to high school.

Not sure what school district your home address falls in.  You can look on your property tax documents or check your address here.

Become a Member

If you are new to Cambridge-Isanti Hockey Association you will need to create a user account for the CIHA website. This account will be needed to keep you up to date with communications and registration. The account you create on the website is a family account. The 'member' should be a parent. The children will be added when a registration is submitted in their name. Multiple email addresses can be added to the account. Click here to create an account.
