We are excited to announce that COACHING registration for the 2020-21 hockey season is open! Slowly, yet surely we are getting closer to the time of year which so many of us look forward to, HOCKEY SEASON! But to get there, we need to fill some of our most vital roles within the organization, coaches. Every season we are honored as we watch our members step forward to apply for a multitude of coaching positions. This year will be no exception!
Whether you're a seasoned vet, someone who has thought about it before, or this is the first time you've ever been asked, we need you! Our kids need the on-ice leadership of a group of skilled, committed, and passionate people who will help to build their character as well as drive home their love for the great sport of hockey and their community!
For information on the steps required to be considered for one of many coaching positions that need to be filled, you can click here, or by looking under the tab labeled More > Coaches at the top of this page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to a member of the board, we would love to assist you in any way we might be able to. Their contact information can also be found here on our website under the tab at the top labeled Board.
We cannot thank you enough, and we look forward to seeing your application soon!!
The Association is seeking people interested in working bingo and/or meat raffle at our gambling sites (Wintergreens in Isanti, Jumpin' Jacks in Weber and possibly Pizza Pub in Cambridge). This is a paid position. We currently have bingo/meat raffle every day of the week except for Mondays at the various locations. Bingo/meat raffle is held year round so it's a perfect way to make some extra money to put towards hockey fees. If interested, please contact Donna Gibb at firstname.lastname@example.org.
At last night's monthly meeting that followed the information session, the board voted to begin negotiations with St Francis and North Branch, to enter into a co-op for the Girls program. This decision and vote were not easy, there were many meetings and hours of discussion that preceded it.
The most important thing that we strived for was open and clear communication between the Board and the Members. We thank all of you who filled out the survey and attended the informational meeting. The opinions and concerns that you shared both against and in favor of the co-op were very important in this decision. We as a Board will continue to try and have the best open line of communication with you as possible. As always we welcome your questions or feedback, which can be done through email or on our website.

As some of you may be aware, CIHA has a scholarship program that helps families in need help pay for their child to play hockey. We understand that situations arise that unfortunately may make a family choose between everyday necessities and keeping their child playing a sport they love, all while learning great life lessons.
As a 501(c)3, CIHA can accept a tax deductible donation from anyone wishing to donate to a new program that will supplement our scholarship program. We are calling it "Keep A Kid In Hockey". This can be an anonymous donation, if you wish, and can be for any amount, or be specified toward something in particular.
If you'd like to "sponsor" a mite, for example, you can donate the amount to cover that cost. If you'd like to sponsor a player whose family you know may be going through a difficult time, you can do that as well. Lastly, you can donate a specific dollar amount that will supplement our current scholarship program, which works with a specified budget and looks at each situation independently.
Thank you for your consideration and help "Keep A Kid In Hockey" if you can!
