2025/26 Termites (in-house)
This refund policy is intended to be a guideline for how refunds will be handled for CIHA members throughout the season for various reasons to intentionally drive consistent handling of refund requests. The CIHA Board of Directors (Board) has a duty to responsibly handle the funds of the association with the respective fiduciary duties. Injuries For players injured during the hockey season, where an injury keeps a player off the ice for more than two weeks, CIHA shall issue a pro-rated refund. The refund will be take into account the cost of game jerseys, practices jerseys, and socks, cost of tournaments for their team, and the amount of time spent off the ice healing from the injury. Parents are asked to make the Board aware of injuries and again to let the Board know when the player has returned to play. The Board will then calculate the prorated refund, and the treasurer will process the refund back to the parent/guardian that paid the registration fees. Pre-tryout Refund Request When a registration cancellation is requested before tryouts, or a full season refund is requested before tryouts, the Board will review and process the request by prorating the refund based on any expenses that may have been incurred (example: practice jerseys). If a player / parent / guardian has repeatedly requested a cancellation of their registration or a full refund, the Board maintains the discretion to not refund registration fees beyond the initial request. Post-tryout Refund Request When a player decides to step away from the hockey season, for any reason other than injury, after the player has been placed on a team, the Board maintains the discretion to not process a refund. CIHA does not intend on refunding registration fees when players / parents / guardians are not happy with the team they make, the players they are with, or their respective coaches.
