Coaching

You must fill out a coaching application for assistant coaching and head coaching.

1. YEARLY: Every year you need to register for a new USA Hockey Number. 25-26 Registration opens April 1st, 2025.

2. YEARLY: Safe Sport: SafeSport Program Training (usahockey.com) You will receive an email 30 days prior to your expiration date. You Should be able to complete up to 60 days prior to this expiration date.

3. EVERY OTHER YEAR: Background Check Please wait to submit until after July 1st, 2025: Background Screen (usahockey.com) Get this in ASAP so it doesn’t take as long when the season starts

1-3 are required before you can step on the ice, and even to be on the bench, locker rooms, or in any authoritative position.

4. Age Module: Age-Specific Modules Can be found in your coaching profile on USA hockey. (Please follow the directions on this page)

5. HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Concussion Training | HEADS UP | CDC Injury Center

Click the take the training picture on the upper right of the page. Effective 10/25/25 this will be required every 2 years. For the remainder of the 25-26 season send the certificate to d10registrar@gmail.com  Becky Ewing

6. CEP Class: Coaching Clinics (usahockey.com) (Please follow the directions on this page- you have until December 31 to complete this but must be signed up by deadline) The confirmation for the class MUST be sent to D10 contacts. If your Level 4/5 expires this year, you must complete 5 CEUS before 12/31/25.

7. YEARLY: Concussion Form for CIHA: This form will be online when you register to coach via CROSSBAR registration.
