Hockey age groups are determined by Minnesota Hockey. You can find the current ages here.
When
The season typically starts with preskates & tryouts toward the end of September, and concluding mid March.
Important Registration Information
Registration Opens 7/26/25 & will close on 8/31/25.
Registration is a two-step process:
- You must register as a member with USA Hockey before you are able to continue with the CIHA registration process. Each player will have their own unique USA Hockey Confirmation number which will need to be entered during CIHA's registration process.
- Once you have registered as a member with USA Hockey, come back to this page to complete the registration process. Reminder: you will need to enter your USA Hockey Confirmation number to proceed with the registration process.

2025/26 Registration fees

*Goalies qualify for a 50% discount, which is built into their registration cost. Goalies are not eligible for any additional discounts, such as the pay in full or multiplayer discount.*

**There will be a $75 additional charge for players (SQ/10U-BT/15U) wishing to register after 8/31/25. CIHA will do everything it can, but we cannot guarantee a spot for players registering late. Please contact the coed or girls director to inquire about registering after 8/31/25.**
2025/26 Payment Options
There are two payment options offered for these levels. You will see both options for your age level.
Pay in Full
Paying in full gives you a 10% discount in the registration fee*. The discount is built into this option, and the entire fee will be due at completion of registration.
ex. Bantam skater fee for 25/26 is $1800. If you choose this option you will be charged $1620, a $180 savings.
*Since goalies are half price they do not receive the 10% discount.
Payment Plan
CIHA will be offering 2 versions of payment plans. Each plan will have a deposit of $200 due upon registration.
- Goalies can pay over 2 payments automatically setup for September 1st & October 1st.
- Skaters can take advantage of 3 payments on the 1st of September, October, & November.

Multi-player Discount
CIHA offers a 5% discount to families who have more than one player registering for a season. In order to utilize the discount you will need to enter the discount code: MULTIPLAYER25 on the "Pricing" section during registration.
Credits
If you have a new or past credit with CIHA, it has been added to your child's account. If you have multiple children it has been added to your oldest child's account.
Account credits are visible in your Crossbar account, and you will be prompted to apply the credit automatically during checkout.
If you do not see your account credits listed on your account or have any questions, please contact the CIHA Treasurer PRIOR to registering.

Traveling hockey for Squirt/10U, Peewee/12U, & Bantam/15U is played within District 10 Hockey. The season will start in late September and ends mid March.
